Tobacco Company Representatives were forced to carry multiple cases of lighters, such as the ones indicated in this add, that were defective.

Try to imagine being forced to transport hundreds of defective lighters, have one ignite and send hundreds rocketing out as projectiles that could surely kill, as well as maim.

We were also forced to "market" these defective lighters and cause untold harm to individuals and their children and non-smoking friends.

You might understand why my policy was to never carry more than one partial case at a time, despite being ordered to carry as many as I could stuff into my rear seat area of my company car.

I show this advertisement to indicate that due to consumer complaints portrayed as a "small number," this particular recall took place.

Would you like to imagine how many people got injured by a tobacco product inducement item, complained, was ignored and the product was never recalled?

One has to ask...exactly what number of complaints constitutes "small?"
