This section is dedicated to addressing fraudulent business reporting practices by the tobacco companies...

Example: Advanced Orders...

Advanced Orders is the practice of tobacco companies having their representives going into a retail outlet and writing an "order" for a volume of cartons that, for the most part, will never be delivered.

Why won't they be delivered?

Limited legitimate Advanced Orders aside, these fraudulently written Advanced Orders were written for a purpose.

The purpose?

To deceive the stockholder into believing that stock (cigarettes) is moving "out of warehouse;" in otherwords, being sold...for an Advanced Order was counted as a sale.

In reality, the retailer has informed the tobacco representative that he/she will tear the Advanced Order up as soon as the representative leaves the store.

Although I informed my superiors dozens and dozens of times that this was happening, it was then that I was told that by writing these "Phantom" Advanced Orders, it made our sales look good to the stockholders when, in reality, they were fraudulent and a sham.

The "legitimate" Advanced Orders written in advance of any "contracted" promotions by no means came close to matching the number of "Phantom" Advanced Orders that are written, and immediately destroyed, or significantly reduced, yet still giving the stockholders of the tobacco companies a false impression of the sales of that particular tobacco company.

Much more will be added to this section of the website over time, so visit here regularly.
